Currently, my son is in a period of development that requires him to be very active!  With snow on the ground and no appropriate gear to play in, hanging out in the back yard isn't an option.  He's taking it out on my house - in a big, crazy toddler kind of way.  Next week, I'm dedicating every morning to be spent out of the house doing something - preferably something that will tire his butt out.  I have a few ideas, but would love to hear what you think!  Please feel free to leave your suggestions as a comment in this post.

What does your family do when you need to get out of the house?

I don't know if they have one at your post, but they have in indoor playground where we live. We can also take him to the Mcdonalds to play. There is also an indoor mini golf here. Ha, but of course there is...I live in Alaska!

We got a YMCA membership, I can work out and the kids can go to the childcare center there and play. We all win! We also swim if there is open swimming, we all win that way too! I am also a part of a MOPS like group at church and we have our meeting every other Tuesday, with a fun day every third Tuesday, so that helps too. We have a membership to the Children's Museum also.

Google things to do in your area, there are always things to do around here, even during the winter. Sleigh rides, outdoor parties, skating rinks, sliding hills...

WE play tag in the yard, make mud pies and my son's favorite, paint the house. We go outside and I give him a bucket and paint brush. He paints the house with the water in the bucket. He LOVES it.
